Carrot and Raisin Salad

Carrot and Raisin Salad

Carrot and Raisin Salad may be old fashioned, but it never goes out of style. A creamy, slightly sweet dressing over crisp carrots and apples with plump raisins, it’s a delicious side dish. This is a family favorite that both my grandma and my mom have made for as long as I can remember. My mom adapted it for use at the restaurant where she worked and it was a salad bar favorite. This recipe is super easy to throw together and it can be made ahead of time. I recommend soaking the raisins to plump them up a bit.

Old family favorite recipes are some of the best recipes. The combination of flavor and aromas that evoke happy memories of the preparation and sharing of food affects everyone. Sometimes I update the recipes but many of them are perfect just the way they are. Carrot and Raisin Salad is the latter.
