Chex Snack Mix

Chex Snack Mix

Vickie Young
A great salty, crunchy snack with some zip. I like Chex Mix for snacking at the office or on a road trip. Portion it out into zip top bags or air tight containers and it'll stay fresh for your salty snack cravings.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Rice Chex
  • 3 cups Corn Chex
  • 3 cups Wheat Chex
  • 1 cup mixed nuts
  • 1 cup bite sized pretzels
  • 1 cup rye chips
  • 1 cup cheez-it crackers
  • 8 tbsp butter
  • ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp seasoned salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder

Instructions

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees
  • In a very large bowl, mix cereal, nuts, pretzels, and crackers. Set aside
  • Melt butter in a small saucepan on the stovetop or you can microwave in an uncovered bowl for 40-60 seconds, until melted. Stir in seasonings. Pour over cereal mixture, stir until evenly coated. I do this a little at a time, mixing in between additions of butter.
  • Spread mix on 2-3 large, rimmed baking sheets and place in the 250 degree oven. Stir mixture every 15 minutes until mixture has baked for 1 hour and is crisp. You can also microwave on high, uncovered, 5-6 minutes stirring every 2 minutes.
  • Let cool and store in an airtight container

Notes

*For a spicy twist, replace 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce with ¼ cup Frank’s Red Hot Sauce
